Description: A very rare, unique "blue label" Spenke & Metzl "Dresdner Apparatebau" 8 lug orchestral snare drum Dresden-N6 from the 1930's made by Dresden Apparatus Design and Manufacturing Company who made orchestral percussion instruments in Germany. (The blue label snare drums are older than the black label snare drums). This snare measures 5" x 14"+. The diameter is slightly larger than 14" and includes several extra custom size batter & snare heads made by REMO for the drum. This shell has the classic vintage nickel plated brass shell and shows no rust. Owned by a professional orchestral musician. Includes Patterson snares. Shell shows some pre-drilled holes near butt and strainer possibly pre-drilled by manufacturer as research has indicated. The snare hoop originally had slits which separated the individual snares which were removed to allow for standard snares.
